Following appearances in bits in several Irish and British television shows since 2009 Bea began her career as a stand-up comedian in 2011. She began appearing frequently on sketch comedy shows and sitcoms later in the year. In 2012, she began appearing in panel shows following her win of an award at the Edinburgh Comedy Awards. In 2016 through 2017, she was a team captain for 8 Out of 10 Cats and is a frequent contestant for the sequel 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown. Her parents were Brian O'Sullivan and Helen O'Sullivan. She has an older sister named Sinead. In 2012, she was the second female to win the So You Think That You're Funny award. Bea's surname is in honour of her father who passed away. Aisling Claiodhnadhs Sullivan was born on March 16, 1984, from Kildare, County Kildare. Bea's father Brian died at age three. He was a horse vet. Bea wasn't told the particulars of his death to death until she was 13 years old. The stage name she chose was Bea in honor of her father. She also published an article in The Guardian in 2017 about the family's suicide experience. Bea's mother Helen She is a trainer for jockeys as well as a former professional jockey, was the one responsible for raising her as well as Sinead. Her family were horse and race meeting obsessed. Bea started out her career as a tour-guide for the Irish National Stud. However, she realized early on that the race industry wasn't for her.
