Maggie Grace, born Margaret Grace Denig on September 21 the 21st of September 1983 in Worthington Ohio is an American actress. She is famous for playing Shannon Rutherford and Kim Mills respectively in ABC's Lost television show. Originating from Worthington Ohio, she quit high school to move to Los Angeles with her mother after her parents divorce. The actress landed her first part in the film, Rachel's Room's main character in 2001 despite struggling with finances. In 2002 she was nominated to receive a Young Artist Award with her character as a 15 year old murder victim Martha Moxley. Grace Rutherford was the character Shannon Rutherford for Lost's first two seasons in 2004 and was awarded with her a Screen Actors Guild Award (with other cast members) with her. After leaving the show, Grace wanted to appear as a film actress, and had been cast as the opposite of Tom Welling in The Fog in 2005. She starred on the screen in Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club in 2007 as well as Taken (2008) opposite Liam Neeson. The actress reprised her character for Taken 2 (2011) and Taken 3 (2013).She also played Alice in Malice in Wonderland, a contemporary adaptation from the Lewis Carroll novel Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Grace reprised the role of Shannon for two additional episodes of Lost as well as the show's finale. In 2013, Grace appears in Californianation, the 6th season. She portrays Faith a groupie and a muse to the stars, who catches the interest of Hank Moody played by David Duchovny. As a part of the Gyllenhaal Family she is the daughter and elder sister of actor Jake Gyllenhaal. Her career began as an early teenager, when she appeared in small roles in several films by her father. Also, she worked alongside her brother on the 2001 popular movie Donnie Darko. She then appeared as a character in Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind and Mona Lisa Smile (both 2002). Gyllenhaal received nominations for the Golden Globe Award in both the action drama Sherrybaby (2005) and in the romantic comedy Secretary (2002). The two films received acclaim from critics. The actress gained more attention when she portrayed Rachel Dawes, a superhero in The Dark Knight (2008), thanks to several successful commercials she appeared in during the year 2006. She was nominated to win an Academy Award as Best Supporting Actress due to her part in Crazy Heart, (2009). Following that she appeared in comedy and dramatic films: Nanny McPhee & the Big Bang (2010) Hysteria 2011, and Won't Back Down 2012. The other roles she played were an agent in the action-thriller White House Down (2013), a Secret Service agent in the action-thriller White House Down (2013) and a musician in Frank (2014) as well as The title role in the drama The Kindergarten Teacher (2018). Gyllenhaal started her career as screenwriter, director and writer in the year 2021, when she wrote and directed the psychological thriller The Lost Daughter. The film won Best Screenplay at The Venice International Film Festival, and was later nominated by The Academy Award. Academy Award.
