Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson was born in Paris France to British parents Jacqueline Luesby and Chris Watson Both lawyers. After moving to Oxfordshire around the age of five, she enrolled in the Dragon School. Emma was inspired to become an actor when she was six. For several years, she attended the Oxford branch of Stagecoach Theatre Arts part-time school. She learned to sing dance, acting and singing. When she was ten, she had appeared and played the lead in various Stagecoach productions and school plays. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000) the film version of J.K. Rowling's bestselling British novel was first cast in 1999. Emma was discovered by agent via her Oxford teacher. David Heyman told Emma along together with Rupert Grint, Daniel Radcliffe that they had all been through eight consecutive auditions. The release of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2001) was Emma's debut on the screen in cinema. It also was the film that was most popular of 2001. Its opening weekend and day the sales were record breaking. The film was praised by reviewers, and so were the performances of its three new stars. The Daily Telegraph, an influential British newspaper, called Emma's performances "amazing". Emma received the Young Artist Award as the Leading Young Actress for a Film. Film.
